Transfer Scholarships

Transfer Scholarships

Scholarships are a great way to help cover your educational expenses. Texas State offers incoming transfer students two categories of scholarships: Assured and Competitive. You can stack scholarships and combine them with financial aid up to the cost of attendance.

Assured Scholarship Program

Transfer assured scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic credentials. The scholarships are guaranteed to all qualified residents and nonresidents (including international students) provided they are admitted to Texas State as a first-time transfer to the university and meet the scholarship qualifications prior to the start of their first semester.

It applies to new, first-time transfers from both community colleges and 4-year colleges and universities. Awards will be for the fall and spring semesters. The Financial Aid and Scholarships office will award admitted transfers who meet the requirements. The scholarship can be renewed for a second year with a 3.0 cumulative Texas State GPA and 24 earned hours in the previous year.

Not A Texas Resident?

You could still qualify for resident tuition

If you qualify for at least $1,000 in Texas State competitive or merit scholarships, you may receive a nonresident tuition waiver.

If qualified, the department that awarded you the scholarship will complete the appropriate nonresident tuition waiver form.
